An incredible trip through some of the best roads – and through the grandest scenery – in the northern USA and Canada. Leaving the big city lights of Seattle in our wing mirrors, we ride up the North Cascades Highway through what is described as the ‘North America Alps’ – the Rockies. Dramatic mountain peaks and spectacular rugged scenery abound though the National Park on the way up to the 5,477ft-high Washington Pass. We then cross into Canada and travel through the wonderfully named locations of ‘Fort Steel Heritage Town’, ‘Crows Nest Pass’ and ‘Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump’.

Next we ride back into the USA and into the ‘Big Sky State’ of Montana and the Glacier National Park. Our ride takes us over the Great Continental Divide, the watershed which feeds into the Atlantic on one side and the Pacific on the other, at the 6,646ft-high Logan Pass. We then continue south to one of the highlights of the trip – Yellowstone National Park and our historic rooms in the Old Faithful Inn. Of course, we couldn't pass through without going to watch the Old Faithful Geyser spray boiling hot water 145 feet into the sky, exploring the amazing volcanic features of the park and stopping to see the wild bison wandering on the roads.

It's then onto the Beartooth Pass at an incredible 10,977 feet high, Beartooth is the highest road in the Northern Rockies. It snakes through high alpine plateaus which are dotted with countless glacial lakes, forested valleys and stratospherically high waterfalls. This road leads us to Cody, made famous by the legendary scout, hunter and entertainer William ‘Buffalo Bill’ Cody. Here we'll experience the spirit of the American West at the famous ‘Cody Nite Rodeo’. We'll be staying at the Irma Hotel, built by Cody, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks, we'll spend the night drinking whisky with the real cowboys at the cherry wood bar - a gift from Queen Victoria to Bill.

From here, we'll saddle up and ride south and onto the Grand Teton National Park, a landscape rich with majestic mountains, pristine lakes and extraordinary wildlife including black bears, moose, golden eagles and bison. We'll then press on into Utah through the Flaming Gorge and the Ashley National Forest. The next part of our adventure will take us along the Trail Ride Road through the Rocky Mountains National Park - the highest continuous paved road in the USA. It runs through forests, before rising above tree line and over the alpine tundra, up to the highest point at 12,183 feet and crossing the Continental Divide (again!) before descending to Denver. a.k.a "Mile High City". This metropolis on the edge of the Grand Plains marks the end of our unforgettable and spectacular adventure.
